Southeast Asia’s leading restaurant booking app Eatigo has recently acquired Pune-based Ressy which provides deals and discounts at restaurants for an undisclosed amount. After this acquisition, Eatigo is officially available to users in both Mumbai and Pune.Eatigo, founded in 2013, is South-East Asia based restaurant booking app. It offers discounts of up to 50% throughout the day at all of its participating outlets and allows customers to make secure reservations. Currently, it is operating in more than 2,000 restaurants across Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

On the other hand, Ressy, an Indian startup started by Koustubh Rajepandhare and Sagar Patil in May 2015, is an on-demand application for restaurants. It provides real-time discounts for restaurants across. The mobile app provides up to 50% discount at local restaurants in real-time.


As part of its expansion strategy in India, Eatigo has entered the Indian market. It is already a great success in countries like Hong Kong and Singapore.

“After successful launches in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines, we’re excited to continue extending Eatigo’s reach – this time moving out of Southeast Asia, where we’ve served over 5 million diners (and counting),” said Michael Cluzel who is the CEO and co-founder of Eatigo.

Backed by TripAdvisor with a total to-date funding of $15.5 Mn, the company claims to be working with over 1,200 restaurants in Mumbai and Pune serving over 50,000 customers.

Ressy has raised a total of $750K in two rounds of funding since 2015. Its investors include Mohandas Pai, Vikram Chachra, Navin Mittal ( and many more.
